Hey there! I'm Mike
I am the founder of Pillar Coaching Services, a fitness and nutrition coaching service. I love reading, writing, and playing video games. When I'm not helping people get and stay in the best shape of their lives you can find me napping, thumbing through a book, or moving my body. I live in Iowa with my girlfriend and golden retriever.
Liz has been an exerciser all her life. At three she began dancing. She also played softball and ran track until she went to school at Iowa State University where she studied and graduated with a degree in journalism.
Liz found a love for running long distances and completed several half marathons including the Des Moines half marathon and Dam to Dam. After her first child was born Liz began working with a personal trainer and lifting weights. She immediately fell in love with the feeling of being strong and her confidence began to soar.
Liz has been working with Mike since 2012. She learned barbell training and competed in a local weight lifting event. She also learned how to eat. After some years of practice, she decided it was time to move on from her corporate job and look into doing something she loved – being a fitness and nutrition coach.
Liz trains clients from her home gym in addition to coaching nutrition. Liz lives in Urbandale with her husband, daughter, son and pup.
Drew started his fitness journey at the age of 11 when he began lifting weights in his friend's basement. He went on to compete as a Division 1 College Football player. After his athletic career he continued competing in powerlifting and Crossfit.
Drew started coaching at the age of 19 while studying Health and Human Performance at Iowa State University. While in school Drew got coaching experience in strength and conditioning where he had the opportunity to work with Olympic hopefuls and future professional athletes. After school his coaching career continued while he worked as a personal trainer.
Drew began working with Pillar in 2016 having been colleagues and friends with Mike. After participating in the program himself he decided he wanted to resume his coaching career and help his clients live the new fitness and nutrition lifestyle he learned. He lives in Waukee with his wife and son.
