106. Take your excitement and entertainment elsewhere

Excitement is the opposite of boredom.
Too many people want their fitness and food to be exciting or entertaining.
These are properties for leisure, Netflix, games, and vacations. Not nutrition and workouts.
When you feel boredom creeping up you should take this as a sign of your skill level increasing. Keep practicing the boring thing.
Tom Brady is surely beyond bored at football practice. That doesn't mean he starts shooting basketballs or swinging golf clubs instead. He keeps doing the things that made him successful to build his level of mastery.
The result? He is the greatest quarterback of all time and looks like he plays in slow motion compared to everyone else on the field. He is relaxed because he has been in every situation imaginable many times and built the requisite skills needed to handle those situations.
Your food and fitness should follow suit.
Stick to the basics and rack up as many practice reps as you can.
Far before you reach the accepted level of 10,000 hours needed for mastery you will be relaxed in any eating or exercise situation you find yourself in.
